Provides education, programs and technical assistance in food production support services. Includes basic soil testing, which analyzes nutrient content and fertility status. Results include fertilizer and lime recommendations. Additional tests are available for nutrient management plans, environmental issues, potting mixes, compost, manure and water usage. Each sample should contain about 1½ cups of dry soil from 6 to 7 inches deep. Consult our soil testing publications for specific instructions. Results are typically provided within two weeks.

Individuals or families needing to place their child(ren) into foster care should contact the office to discuss options. Also receives and reviews applications for families who would like to adopt or foster a child(ren)

This program is responsible for inspecting: food establishments, private water and sewage, septic systems, day care inspections, daily incoming complaints, and other environmental health issues.

Family Support Warmline: Provides emotional support and guidance to those experiencing anxiety, depression, or thoughts of suicide.

Assists with rent deposit payments so families in Atchison County, Missouri can live in housing that is safe, healthy and affordable.

General immunizations available.

Utility Assistance: Provides assistance to low-income individuals for propane, wood and natural gas assistance. Partial payments are made to avoid utility cut-offs.

Distributes home medical equipment, devices include, but are not limited to, positioning devices stair lifts. Does not offer medications, orthopedic braces, tubing and masks for CPAPs and BiPaps.

Program offers assistance getting freon put into a client's air condition unit. This money is to go towards the $300 cap for summer assistance through ECIP funds

Provides parenting classes that utilize professional model practice curriculum, such as "Love and Logic" and "Padres Activos de Hoy" in Spanish and English at various community meeting places, childcare and food are provided.
