Ability KC provides CARF accredited assistive technology services through the Adaptive Computer & Communication Technology (ACCT) Program. The program targets two primary components of assistive technology- the equipment that empowers individuals with disabilities to have a voice through augmentative & alternative communication; and the adapted access method to use all forms of communication, whether it be spoken through AAC, or to use methods such as eyegaze or voice, to access personal devices that may be used for work or social connections. By understanding the unique needs of each individual served, the ACCT Program maximizes the abilities of individuals to access their daily activites through assistive technology for communication and engagement.

LIHEAP: Beginning November 2 for disabled and elderly household member, who may also be disconnected or under imminent threat to be disconnected from their electric service may apply for assistance.

• General public can apply for assistance starting December 1, or until funds are depleted whichever comes first.
