The Office of Human Relations investigates and tries to resolve complaints against Jackson County government. This includes Ethics and Human Relations issues for the Jackson County government and Citizen Complaints about Jackson County Courthouses.

Provides legal advocacy for victims pursuing criminal charges, explain the process and clarify the options available to the survivors and their families. Serving as a liaison with the police and state's attorney's office, an advocate lends support to the survivor, assists in reporting the crime to law enforcement, helps prepare the survivor for court, and attends the court dates with the survivor.

Individuals or families needing to place their child(ren) into foster care should contact the office to discuss options. Also receives and reviews applications for families who would like to adopt or foster a child(ren)

YMCA with various athletic programs including Y Pals an adult/child mentoring program. Call for details.

Provides assistance in getting housekeeping and respite services for seniors through various agencies in the area; these services are provided to help keep the Seniors living independently for as long as possible.

Early childhood program designed to provide high-quality educational experiences, health services, social service support, and other opportunities for children and their families. The Early Head Start program provides comprehensive services for pregnant women and their birth-to-3-year-old children.

The Missouri Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program provides assistance that helps Missouri adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major areas of support are Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition. These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, English language competency, and problem-solving.

Provides a warming center during periods of extreme cold weather.

Provides assistance with TANF appeals and/or complaints.

Environmental Public Health Services: Provides water testing.

Front Line Feeding Program: Free lunch served daily for anyone who is hungry at Salvation Army Harbor House. Also provides lunch for Senior Citizens at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway in Springfield.

Evidence based Nurturing Network curriculum offering parenting information regarding child developmental stages, use of play in child development, appropriate discipline techniques, etc.

Accepts clothing donations. Donated clothing must be appropriate for season.

Modern Family Alliance advocates for LGBTQ+ families in the Midwest so that they may participate fully in the larger community without fear of oppression, intimidation or exclusion.

Congregate meal and home-delivery of hot meals at 12:00pm (Noon) Monday-Friday; microwaveable frozen meals are also available for evenings and weekends.

Provides an Alzheimer's support group.

Accepts a wide range of donations that are not in need of repair; some donations are sold as a way to earn money for the program; automobiles in good condition that are accepted as donations would be sold; the food pantry may use a donated truck in good condition.
