Planned by Variety Families for Variety Families, Variety Family Social Groups are open to Variety Kids and their families. This Variety Family Council program is intended to give area children and teens with disabilities a chance to socialize while participating in various in-person and virtual activities as well as outings throughout the area.
Activities have included virtual hangouts and game nights, trips to the movies, bowling, playing at the park, and more. During the pandemic, Social Groups have shifted to a completely online format, with plans to move back to in-person outings as soon as it is safe to do so.
Families participating in Social Groups are also the first to be offered complimentary tickets to community-sponsored events and attractions when they are occasionally made available to Variety St. Louis.

- Family Fun Night: Offers families an opportunity to participate in activities together the first Friday of each month. All family members are welcome, regardless of age or ability.
- Cooking with Family and Friends: Four week course designed for getting together and learning about cooking. Individuals will walk away with a complete meal they can enjoy during class. Class includes a cooking competition among the groups.
- St. Louis Arc Night at the Ballpark: Each spring St. Louis Arc hosts a night at the Ballpark where reduced rate tickets are offered to individuals, families and staff. All attendants sit together in the same section and a portion of ticket sales go back to support St. Louis Arc.
- St. Louis Arc Night with the Blues: Each winter St. Louis Arc hosts a night with the Blues where reduced rate tickets are offered to individuals, families and staff. All attendants sit together in the same section and a portion of ticket sales go back to support St. Louis Arc.
- Teen Bowling and Teen Meet Up: Opportunities for teens who have developmental disabilities to hang out with friends and families doing fun activities like bowling, karaoke, bingo, Wii, board games and team sports.
- The Wild Within: Summer adventure club for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities where individuals can learn the basics of camping, rock climbing, fishing and more.
- Music Moves: Class for people with developmental disabilities to learn dance moves, the art of singing and other musical skills. Class is taught by an experienced Music Therapist.
