Provides social activities for adults in St. Louis City who have a developmental disability. Most events are chosen based on client interest and may include camping trips, restaurant dining, drive-in movies, shopping, etc.

Coffee Talk: A community discussion group focusing on a diverse group of individuals learning about one another and their experiences and perspectives on issues in their community, country and abroad.

Elder Connection: Provides monthly social events, such as trips to local attractions, events, and restaurants.

Shepherd's Center offers Adventures in Learning which includes presentations on worldwide locations, history, health, important issues, and words of inspiration from local pastors.

• Social Group: Designed as an opportunity for disabled adults to get together, meet new people and enjoy various activities. Group meets throughout the year for various activities.

• Youth Group: Designed as an opportunity for young people to get together, meet new people, talk about their futures and have fun. Group members have the opportunity to attend job fairs, educational training and gain access to many more valuable resources.

Social Clubs: A large group socialization program gives participants a chance to participate in a variety of activities, including dances, bowling, movies, dinner outings, wrestling, plays and musicals. Challenges Unlimited: A group recreation program gives participants the opportunity to participate in healthy and fitness classes, learn new skills and attend community activities.

Adult Recreation Services: Offers community-based individual, small and large group recreation activities, includes, but not limited to, sports, classes, health and wellness, leisure and more. Also, offers the following Special Olympic teams: Bocce Ball, Bowling and Skiing. Teen Club: An after-school program that builds confidence and socialization skills in a safe and supportive environment. Activities include cooking, crafts, field trips, science experiments, outside activities and more. Teen Club is offered in five school districts: St. Charles, Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt, Wentzville and Boonslick State School. Transportation is provided by school districts to Teen Club site but parents/caregivers are responsible for pick up. Snacks are provided to enrolled students.

Planned by Variety Families for Variety Families, Variety Family Social Groups are open to Variety Kids and their families. This Variety Family Council program is intended to give area children and teens with disabilities a chance to socialize while participating in various in-person and virtual activities as well as outings throughout the area. Activities have included virtual hangouts and game nights, trips to the movies, bowling, playing at the park, and more. During the pandemic, Social Groups have shifted to a completely online format, with plans to move back to in-person outings as soon as it is safe to do so. Families participating in Social Groups are also the first to be offered complimentary tickets to community-sponsored events and attractions when they are occasionally made available to Variety St. Louis.

Sunnyhill University: Gives people with disabilities the support to venture out of their homes, learn about the community, socialize and enjoy life to the fullest. There are many opportunities for students to interact with others through specialized activities including arts and crafts, games and monthly field trips.

• Family Fun Night: Offers families an opportunity to participate in activities together the first Friday of each month. All family members are welcome, regardless of age or ability.

• Cooking with Family and Friends: Four week course designed for getting together and learning about cooking. Individuals will walk away with a complete meal they can enjoy during class. Class includes a cooking competition among the groups.

• St. Louis Arc Night at the Ballpark: Each spring St. Louis Arc hosts a night at the Ballpark where reduced rate tickets are offered to individuals, families and staff. All attendants sit together in the same section and a portion of ticket sales go back to support St. Louis Arc.

• St. Louis Arc Night with the Blues: Each winter St. Louis Arc hosts a night with the Blues where reduced rate tickets are offered to individuals, families and staff. All attendants sit together in the same section and a portion of ticket sales go back to support St. Louis Arc.

• Teen Bowling and Teen Meet Up: Opportunities for teens who have developmental disabilities to hang out with friends and families doing fun activities like bowling, karaoke, bingo, Wii, board games and team sports.

• The Wild Within: Summer adventure club for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities where individuals can learn the basics of camping, rock climbing, fishing and more.

• Music Moves: Class for people with developmental disabilities to learn dance moves, the art of singing and other musical skills. Class is taught by an experienced Music Therapist.
