Contract Compliance is responsible for monitoring, compliance, enforcement, oversight, training and assisting contractors with prevailing wage, Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MWDBE), and Section 3 requirements. They monitor City construction projects, provide Contract Compliance training for all current and potential contractors on City projects, and provide technical assistance by conducting interviews and responding to complaints.

The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) ensures employees are paid proper wages for the hours they work and enforces worker protection legislation, including Federal minimum wage, child labor requirements, Family and Medical Leave Act and immigration related statutes. WHD also investigates complaints regarding these worker protections.

Provide information to low-wage workers about their rights as workers. Our attorneys also represent low-wage workers (or help them secure outside counsel) when their rights have been violated.

The Women's Bureau provides information and referrals to resources regarding equality and economic security for working women and their families.
