Eligibility
Missouri Blind Pension
- 18 years old or older
- US Citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Does not own personal property worth more than $20,000
- Does not have a sighted spouse who provides support
- Is determined to be totally blind as defined by law (up to 5/200 or visual field of less than 5 degrees)
- Is of good moral character
- Must be ineligible for Supplemental Aid to the Blind
- Is willing to receive medical treatment or operation to cure blindness if available, unless 75 years or older
- Is not a resident of a public, private or endowed institution except a public medical medical institution
- Is ineligible to receive federal Supplemental Security Income benefits
- Is 18 years old or older
- US Citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Does not own personal property worth more than $20,000
- Does not have parents living in Missouri, nor a sighted spouse who can provide support
- Is determined to be totally blind as defined by law (up to 5/200 or visual field of less than 5 degrees)
- Is not a resident of a public, private or endowed institution except a public medical institution
- Is in need of assistance due to lack of sufficient income to meet basic needs
- Must apply for Supplemental Security Income

MISSOURI REHABILITATION SERVICES FOR THE BLIND
Provides services to people with varying degrees of visual impairment, ranging from those who cannot read regular print to those who are totally blind. Services include vocational rehabilitation to those who have barriers to employment or school due to their vision, educate in aspects of independent living skills, have an Older Blind Services program and children's services and services for the prevention of blindness.
