Rent Rebate/Tax Credit Information | St. Louis Area Agency on Aging

Eligibility
  • Renters who lived and paid rent in Missouri for the entire calendar year. If renting from a facility that DOES NOT pay property taxes, person is not eligible for a Circuit Breaker
  • Age 65 years and older
  • Ages 18-64 years receiving SSI, SSD, or Veterans Disability benefits
  • Ages 60-64 years and received surviving spouse social security benefits
  • Income limits apply. To be eligible, annual income must be $27,200 or less for a single person and $29,200 or less for a household.
Required documents
  • Photo ID
  • Rent receipts/landlord statement of rent paid for the year
  • Social Security Statement (SSA-1099 or RRB-1099)
  • Disabled Veteran Documentation if applicable
  • Power of Attorney/Death Certificate if applicable
  • Proof of ALL household income
  • Railroad Retirement Award Letter
  • W-2's from Employers
  • 1099s for Dividends, Interest, Pensions
