Application process
IOP is a medically necessary service that requires precertification prior to starting the program. KidsTLC has a referral form that is completed by the youth’s current therapeutic provider. Once the referral form is completed it is sent to the intake department. Upon receiving the information, intake staff will complete the preauthorization with the appropriate MCO for approval. If approved for services, intake staff will then follow up with the legal guardian regarding the program and when the youth can start. Sessions typically begin on Mondays and run anywhere from 2-5 weeks for the initial authorization. If more time is needed, providers can complete a utilization review with the MCO for additional time.
Fees
Accepts all 3 of the Kansas Medicaid providers: Amerigroup, Sunflower/Cenpatico, and UBH; and private pay.

Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured group therapy program designed for children, ages 6 through 17, who exhibit psychiatric symptoms and significant impairment in day-to-day educational, social and interpersonal functioning. This unique program offers a much-needed intermediate level of care, serving as a bridge between inpatient hospitalization or PRTF and a traditional office outpatient setting.
